April Member Meeting – April 17

Even though we will be having a member meeting on April 3 (that was for the March and was moved to April due to Spring Break), the April member meeting will be April 17th at 6pm.  This will be a hybrid meeting so you can come in-person or on-line.  More info will be posted on our website closer to the meeting.

Don’t forget, we will be doing our nominations for our executive at this meeting.

At the GM Meeting on February 21, 2024, the CUPE 728 Holding Society put forth 2 motions. These two meetings are to discuss the motions and vote on them. There will be a discussion before each motion is voted on. The realtor will be there to answer questions as well.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day

Did you know that CUPE728 has amazing bus drivers?  Not only do they allows the students that we work with get to school safely, they also make sure students have successful field trips, ensure safety and they make sure the buses are clean and safe at all times.  Today (and everyday) we want to acknowledge the hard work that our bus drivers do on a daily basis!

National Braille Day

Did you know that we have students that require the use of Braille?

What is Braille?

Braille is a tactile representation of alphabetic and numerical symbols using six dots to represent each letter and number, and even musical, mathematical and scientific symbols. Braille (named after its inventor in 19th century France, Louis Braille) is used by blind and partially sighted people to read the same books and periodicals as those printed in a visual font.

Braille is essential in the context of education, freedom of expression and opinion, as well as social inclusion, as reflected in article 2 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
